Featured Website of the Week – Richard Jung

Posted by liveBooks

Richard Jung grew up on the west coast and opened my first studio in the American Can Building in Dog Patch – San Francisco in 1995. That’s where he discovered liveBooks and has been a customer ever since. He migrated east to New York city for a short stint and through work ended up in London where he’s been ever since, although he does miss Mission St. favorite, Taqueria Cancun!

Q&A with Richard Jung

Q: How would you describe the aesthetic of your website in three words?
Snazzy – Eclectic – Modern.

Q: How often do you typically update your website?
I tend to update seasonally. liveBooks allows me to change the “look” of my website while keeping the structure intact. I also add new work to my site as soon as I can. It’s important to keep it fresh and up-to-date.

Q: How do you choose the photos that you display on your homepage?
I try not to over-think it. It’s simply a little collection of my current favorites.

Q: What is your favorite new feature of liveBooks8?
The customizability is so great. I also love the way my website is seamlessly integrated across all devices. It looks just as great on a smart phone as it does on a super hi-res desktop monitor. It’s also fast and snappy to browse through. Very important for busy art buyers and TV producers.

Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d offer to someone designing their website?
Keep it concise. The people that are looking at your site to hire you are very busy. Your website is representing you and needs to communicate what you do quickly and clearly.

I started my career as a still photographer. Over the years my stills work has evolved into moving images and liveBooks has easily incorporated my needs along the way. With Vimeo integration, I can combine my film work right along side my still photography. It’s one package that represents me and my work with effortless aplomb.
