Hi everyone. Although technically I’m the “editor” of the RESOLVE blog, I’d prefer if people think of me as more than that. Yes, I do oversee the content here and rearrange the occasional sentence, but in a larger sense I help photo professionals of all kinds — people who are incredibly talented at communicating with images — communicate with words. I’m especially interested in helping them use their words (as well as their photos) to inform, inspire, and incite positive progress in the photo community.

I’ve had some experience with this kind of thing, most recently as a Senior Editor at American Photo Magazine in New York City, and a little while ago as a journalism student at Northwestern University near Chicago. I also grew up in Athens, Ohio, home of Ohio University and its stellar photojournalism program…I like to think some of that rubbed off on me, too.

We want this blog to be a place for open discussion from every corner of the industry and world, so please get in touch with me if you have an idea for something you’d like to see at RESOLVE. Whether you want to contribute, know someone we should talk to, have a question you’d like answered, or just want to chat about photography (especially if you are in San Francisco any time and we can do it face-to-face), just let me know. Like I said, I’m here to help.

Hi there! I’m the Associate Editor of the RESOLVE blog, which I’m very excited to be a part of.

I’ve worked closely with photographers throughout my career — I was a fashion stylist, a fashion and beauty writer, a food and travel writer, and a senior editor at a major lifestyle magazine when I was in Hong Kong, where I transplanted from just a few years back. I still keep my pulse on the media there, and I’m currently a regular contributor for City Magazine.

To me, it’s always a joy working with creative professionals, because they never stop inspiring people around them. And, that’s one of our goals here at RESOLVE — we want to inspire you and encourage positive change in the photo community through you, whether you are contributing or simply participating in one of the many discussions here.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any ideas or questions about the photography industry. I would be especially thrilled to talk to photographers from the other side of the world. In case you’re wondering, I speak fluent Cantonese and Mandarin.
