I was born and raised in New York City, and have covering conflicts in Iraq, the ex-Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Central Asia, and the Middle East as a photojournalist since 1996. I have most recently documented the inauguration of the 44th President of the United States — Barack Obama — in Washington DC, and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana and Mississippi. I am also a regular contributor to the New York Times, Newsweek, Esquire and Time magazines, have had exhibits at Sasha Wolf Gallery and the Asian-American Arts Center, and my work is in the collection of the Museum Of Modern Art. The New York Times nominated my Kosovo coverage for the Pulitzer Prize twice, in 1999 and 2000.
