Miki Johnson steps down as RESOLVE editor

Posted by liveBooks

That's me a couple years ago at Visa pour l'Image in Perpignan, France. Looks like I'm about to set off for a trip, right? Photo by Casey Kelbaugh

It seems appropriate that I write the post about my own departure, so here goes — April 1 was my last day as Social Media Editor at liveBooks and editor of the RESOLVE blog.

When we launched RESOLVE in February 2009, our goal was to create a rich resource, a place for photo professionals to share advice and to collectively explore where the industry is headed. I’m proud to have reached that goal — and I’m confident that liveBooks will continue to find new ways to do that.

I also feel lucky to have learned so much from my coworkers, the RESOLVE contributors, and other photo professionals while working at liveBooks. We’re at a point in media history that text books will be written about some day, an age of incredible change, experimentation, and innovation — and with everything I’ve learned, I feel that I’m ready to try some experiments of my own.

For the next few months I’ll be helping to organize a symposium for emerging photographers. I’m also heading out on travels that will reconnect me with personal and professional friends and will be the basis of my new blog, Hey Miki.

I plan to focus on creative collaboration and innovations in storytelling, in part by working with artists in each city I visit. I hope you find my new endeavors interesting and helpful and that you’ll add Hey Miki to your bookmarks.

You’ll also continue to see my name on RESOLVE occasionally, and I will always consider myself part of the liveBooks family. If you want to get in touch with someone directly, please contact Associate Editor Carmen Suen, carmen[at]livebooks[dot]com.
